Well, wonderful to know about the breeds. But, alas, I am a Tuxie and I was told that I was one of the most intelligent. Maybe my ears aren’t right…The Scottish Fold looks like a cousin.

Stop by and say hello
I have a Tuxie. She would run down the hall beside me from the time that we found her to go to her food & water & litter box. She has been running & playing fetch since she was about 2 or 3 months old. She runs behind me & ways her tail. She is definitely a dog in a cats body. She runs to the door when quest come by. Or if I leave she will be at the window waiting for me. She loves to cuddle & sleep on my lap also. She’s definitely a love bug.
Hey, Connie H. Wallace
Thank you for sharing your Tuxies activities with us. Happy to hear all things that your Tuxie did. Are your Tuxie well adjusted with other cats or pets??
Thank you Nirob
I have 2 siamese brother and sister, and they both play fetch for hours, even the dog is worn out watching lol
Hey, Julia
Good to hear about your Siamese. How old are they?? Siamese can do tricks so train them properly.
I have 2 Bengal cats and yes most of what you said is very true. The only thing I disagree is that Bengals are not good indoor cats. My cats live the indoors. And where I live if you leave these cats outside. Either they will get hit by a car or more likely someone will just steal them because they are so beautiful.
Thank You Danelle. I agree with you that there are many risk in outside world. But the curious Bengals like to explore the outside world and love to play in garden, field with the family members and other pets. They also love to walk and travel. That’s why i said that Bengals are not good for the indoor-only home. If possible then take your Bengals outside this will make them happy.
I loved the article but I am curious about the Bengal picture because it appeared to me to be an Egyptian Mau.
Thank You, Tammy Paige. Bengal and Egyptian Mau are the totally different breed of cat. Though there has some similarity in their body color but their behavior, size, cost, temperament everything is different. Yes, I completely agree with your list. These are highly intelligent breeds, but also require high maintenance… If they have everything they need – they will be the best companions ever.
Thank You, Tammy. I agree with you. If a cat has everything they need then he will be the best companions ever.
I’ve had 4 Domestic Bengals. They (and probably Savannahs) have some wild genes. So they tend to wander when outside. For this reason it is wise to keep them in.
Thank You, Jeanna. The Bengal cat is a hybrid of the Asian leopard cat and the domestic cat. So by born, they have some wild activities. They show these wild activities both indoor and outdoor. So, train your Bengal properly. Good training will help them to reduce these wild activities. Another thing you have to know that the Bengals are very curious and always try to explore his surrounding. So, don’t think about this, frequently keep them outside this will make them happy. You can use a leash when they visit outside.
Well, I just bought a little book called How Intelligent is Your Cat and I’m about to do a blog on it tomorrow. You will like it. A great little book. But aren’t Tuxies smart, too????
I like all these breeds even though all my cats are “mutts”, they are smart too.
Thank you, Ellen Pilch. I agree your cats are too smart
