HCM – Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
HCM is the most common heart disease in all cat breeds which causes heart failure, paralysis of hind legs and sudden death. This disease is usually termed as a “silent killer” because it is not so easy to diagnose. HCM heart disease is generally present in Maine Coon cats, greatly in adult and male Maine Coon cats.
HCM thickening the wall of the heart. This stiffens the walls of the heart, restricting blood flow. It may cause to sudden heart failure.
Although symptoms do not typically occur, these possible signs could include:
labored breathing
Paralysis
Coughing
Lethargy
weight loss

Hip Dysplasia

The bones may chafing against each other.Generally you will not find any symptoms, but you can watch stiffness when walking, unwillingness to jump or lameness.Your vet can identify hip dysplasia with X-Rays.

There are many ways of treatments for hip dysplasia that include anti-inflammatory, weight loss and pain medication, in severe cases, surgery. Exercises such as walking on a leash, going up and down the stairs and Proper massages can also help reduce the pains.
Poly-cystic Kidney Disease
PKD is an hereditary and slowly progressive cat disease. Small cysts are present on cat’s kidneys from the birth. The cysts are growing in size and replacing the natural kidney tissue. The kidneys enlarge and renal function declines. If the cysts progresses far enough, cat will build chronic renal failure. This cat disease progresses very slowly, a cat suffering from it may not show any warning signs. Normally, it will occur when a cat around seven years of age.
Always alert for any of the following symptoms :

Loss of appetite
Frequent urination
Vomiting
Weight loss
Increased thirst
